We all know the frayed short sleeve crewneck sweater is in right now but I do find many of them a little too oversized for me. The whole Yeezy vibe that is so prevalent in every shop window is cool if done well but it’s often too slouchy for my taste. I still prefer a more fitted look but I decided to do a bit a both with this look and I think it was a kind of cool contrast. I took a preppy 7″ chino short and paired them with a super long oversized tee and a fitted yet frayed short sleeve sweater. Both pieces I found at Bench. and ended up buying both pieces in extra colours. The sweater is called JAWS TWO T-SHIRT. If you follow along my blog rather regularly, you’ve witnessed the growth of the Bench brand with me and my excitement about it. While I used to find a cool piece here and there, I’m now leaving everytime with sometimes a dozen pieces in my shopping bag. Great spot for basic tank tops too.
I want to get back to the oversized tee. I don’t rep “must-haves” very often but this one belongs. I buy new t-shirts all the time, literally at least a couple a week and although I obviously like each and every one I buy, I rarely fall in love with them and add them to my all-star lineup of pieces. This one is called the BLACKSBEACH TEE and it’s my new favourite fitting tee. It’s got a mildly frayed bottom, a hybrid scoop cut, and it’s extra long but it’s very lightweight which makes it really easy to hike up on the hip. I picked up the black and white but I know the white one is going to get a ton of wear this summer for layering under sweaters and button-ups. It even has that really subtle textured vibe to it which I love and can see if you look closely on the close-up photograph below.
Happy weekend guys. Can’t wait to see everybody’s summer looks on the gram! Peace.
